Your TonTrio
Biography
TonTrio,
Julia Kraus (piano), Karlotta Ess (violin) and Daniel Haverkamp
(cello) was founded in the fall of 2006 at the Hochschule für Musik in
Karlsruhe, Germany; the original ensemble included the violinist
Eva-Maria Vischi. The current ensemble members have been performing
together since 2010. Their extensive repertoire ranges from classical
to contemporary. Their performances include concerts in the State
Parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate and at the "Schwetzingen Festival"
that were transmitted by the SWR (South German Broadcasting station).
In 2010 the trio toured through India and gave concerts in the most
important cities. This tour was sponsored by the Goethe-Institut as
well as the Christel-Guthörle-Stiftung in Reutlingen, Germany.
TonTrio have been studying with the Alban Berg Quartet at the Cologne University of Music and with Dirk Mommertz and Vladimir Mendelssohn at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen since 2009. They have participated in master classes with the internationally renowned Fauré Quartet, the musicologist Prof. Dr. Elmar Budde and Wolf Harden (former Trio Fontenay). The trio has also been coached by Prof. Angelika Merkle, Prof. Dr. h.c. Fany Solter and Prof. Martin Ostertag.
The trio is sponsored by the Yehudi Menuhin Association “Live Music Now”, an institution that brings classical music to people who are unable to attend regular concerts. Other sponsors include the „Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz“ and the „Oscar und Vera Ritter-Stiftung“.
